A corporate crowd is its own animal - mixed ages, mixed enthusiasm, and someone from HR watching. We book acts that read that room: interactive game shows that turn departments into rivals, mentalism that gets the CFO on stage, roving entertainment for the mingling hour, and MCs who keep the run sheet honest.
Every act comes with insurance certificates and invoicing your finance team will approve without a phone call. Tell us the function and we'll match the right act to the room.
Want the whole room involved? A hosted game show is our most-booked corporate format.
See the game shows →Every corporate booking starts with the room: how many people, how much time on the run sheet, and what the event actually needs to achieve. From there we match acts from across the roster rather than pushing whoever happens to be free. These are the formats that get booked into Sydney offices, hotels and function centres most often.
The room shapes the format more than the industry does. Here is what tends to work for the occasions we get booked for most.
These three get their own section because they are the briefs where the entertainment has to fit around a program rather than be the program. A gala dinner has courses, speeches and usually a fundraising segment. An awards night has a running order that cannot slip. A conference has an agenda that was locked weeks ago. The act has to land in the gaps, and the gaps are always shorter than the organiser hoped.
Every act is briefed on the run sheet before the night, and the MC gets the full program, the pronunciations and the sponsor list in advance, not on arrival. Tell us the program and we will tell you where the entertainment fits and where it does not.
Booking a performer direct puts the risk of the night on you. Going through an agency moves most of that risk off your desk.
We have been booking corporate rooms across Australia since 2003, so most briefs are a version of one we have handled before, and we know which formats hold up on the night.
There is one more difference from booking direct. Our clients plan and run their whole event on Show Me Now, the event management platform we have chosen to run our events on: a free portal for the guest list, RSVPs, dietary needs, seating, documents, budget and suppliers, one floor plan, and a run sheet that updates on every screen when the night moves. The entertainment is the part we look after inside it. See how your event runs.
Action Entertainment is based in Sydney, and that is where most of the roster lives and works, which keeps travel costs down and availability easier to confirm. For interstate events, or when the right act for the brief happens to be based elsewhere, we bring them in and handle the travel, with those costs quoted up front rather than added to an invoice later. The booking process does not change: one enquiry, one shortlist, one point of contact, regardless of which state the act is flying in from.
See the roster by city: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, or the dedicated pages for corporate entertainment in Melbourne and corporate entertainment in Brisbane, each with the acts based in that state and the same booking process behind it.
Book as early as the date allows, especially November and December when EOFY and Christmas parties fill the calendar. Popular acts and hosted game shows go first for those weeks. A few weeks notice usually works for the rest of the year, but if the date matters more than the act, get in early and we will hold a shortlist against it.
Cost depends on the act, the format, the date and any travel involved. A roving magician for a cocktail hour costs differently to a full hosted game show with a host and AV. Tell us the event and the budget, which stays with us, and the shortlist we send back comes with quotes attached.
Every act on the roster carries public liability insurance, and we handle the certificates as part of the booking, so your venue and finance team have what they need without chasing paperwork. If a venue or client wants the certificate before confirming a date, we can supply it ahead of the event.
Yes. Tell us everything in one enquiry, whether that is a single MC or a full program of game show, roving act and band, and we shortlist the lot together so you get one confirmation and one invoice instead of several separate bookings.
We are Sydney based and it is our strongest market, but we book acts across Australia. Where a local act on the roster suits the room we use them, otherwise we bring the right act in from interstate and handle the travel.
A hosted game show is a live, interactive format run by a professional host, built around trivia or team rounds, with buzzers, scoring and big screen graphics. It gets a whole room on its feet at once, which is why it is our most booked corporate format.
Entertainment that fits between the courses rather than competing with them. The formats that work most often are roving magic during pre-dinner drinks, a short stage spot from a mentalist or illusionist between courses, and a band or DJ that holds back through dinner and lifts once the formal part is done. Anything that needs the whole room's attention for a long stretch belongs after the speeches, not before them.
Yes. Professional MCs and hosts are a regular part of our corporate bookings. For an awards night the MC gets the full running order, the winner list and the pronunciations in advance so the presentations run to time. For a conference the MC opens, links the speakers and runs the audience questions, and can be paired with a short interactive act for the afternoon session if the agenda allows.
Take the finder or tell us about your event - we'll shortlist the right acts and check availability.
