Anthony Maroon is one of Sydney's best-known radio voices and a working MC with three decades of live experience. He calls the NRL for Triple M and has hosted everything from sporting presentations to corporate functions, always on time and always across the run sheet.
Known to his radio audience simply as "Maroon", Anthony built his career the hard way, starting in regional radio at Inverell and Goulburn before moving into television in Wollongong and then to Sydney. He has been part of Triple M Sydney for many years, hosting one of the station's highest rated shows and commentating the NRL.
Alongside his broadcast career he is a busy MC.
He has hosted NRL presentations, V8 Supercars functions, events at the Sydney Cricket Ground, charity fundraisers and registered club nights, and corporate, automotive and retail events for clients including the Westfield Group, Suttons Motors Group and the St Vincent de Paul Society.
Crowds know the voice before they see him, and that familiarity does half the work of warming a room.
His awards include Best Radio Rugby League Caller in 1998 and Best On-Air Radio Announcer, Metro, in 2003, 2004 and 2005, plus finalist places at the Radio Awards in 2016, 2017 and 2018. We book Anthony when the night needs a host with real broadcast authority: a sports dinner, an awards night, a conference or a charity gala.
