Background – 2006 Rachel graduated with honours in music and art from Newtown High School of the Performing Arts. She honed her performance skills early on in talent quests. Rachel turned professional at 18 and can be seen performing in Pubs, Clubs, Restaurants and Private Functions across Sydney.

We came across Rachel Laing by chance and luck was certainly on our side that day. We had recently moved to Australia and didn’t know where to start looking for live music for our wedding in the Hunter Valley. We ‘found’ Rachel whilst searching on line and we found a clip of her doing a radio interview. We liked what we heard and then listened some more, working our way through her Youtube catalogue. She sounded great but it was a big decision as we wanted our wedding day to be perfect! We went to see Rachel at one of her gigs and we loved her. Her voice was amazing and we loved the music she sang – old and new! The months before the wedding we worked with Rachel’s manager to plan our wedding entertainment and Rachel was so accommodating in learning special songs for our first dance, cake cutting and some songs ‘just because we liked then’! We then went to see a gig of the Rachel Laing Duo. Rachel and Alex were amazing together and Alex is an extremely talented guiartist! On our wedding day Rachel sang solo during our champagne reception on the terrace and then throughout dinner. Rachel planned everything perfectly – the songs she chose to sing and at what time and the song choice was perfect. After dinner Alex joined Rachel and the guests were up on dance floor dancing for the rest of the evening. We cannot recommend highly enough Rachel Laing and or/The Rachel Laing Duo. Everything was seemless. We had no stress. We had the perfect entertainment. Thank you Rachel Laing for being part of our special day and making it a day to remember.
