Performance Styles

The following describes the most commonly requested performances. If you would like something different, a combination of the below acts, or have any queries, please contact me to discuss your ideas.

Fire Show
Each Fire Show incorporates several different pieces of equipment and is choreographed to music. I work with you, the layout of the venue and the format of the event to create the best show possible (including music, costuming and choreography). In this way every show is unique and sure to impress. A Fire Show can be performed in most indoor or outdoor spaces and is suitable for an event of any size where you have a captive audience.

Fire Welcome
A Fire Welcome is designed to have a high visual impact as your guests arrive at a venue. As they step off the bus, out of their car or make their way towards the enterance to your event, they are welcomed by the sight of a fire dancer – fire eating, body tracing, fire twirling or blasting a flame projector. It can be performed in most indoor or outdoor spaces, with equipment being selected based on the nature of the event and the space available. It is suitable for an event of any size where all your guests arrive at the same time or within an allocated period of time. It is best suited to enterance ways, gardens and reception halls.

Roving
Roving is a mobile format of guest entertainment. It involves moving amongst your guests and entertaining them with up close displays of fire-eating, body flame trails and smaller fire acts. The size, nature and diversity of my equipment enables me to entertain your guests at their tables and in small groups, creating exciting and intimate fire experiences. Guests have the opportunity to see what I do up close, ask questions and even try a little of what I do for themselves. Roving is best suited to any medium to large event where you have guests standing and mingling, spread out over a large venue or several floors. It is most suited to informal events, although appropriate for some formal events also.

Short Sets
Short Sets of fire entertainment are ideal for events where small pockets of entertainment are required throughout the event. Each set incorporates different equipment to ensure it is fresh and dynamic every time. The sets can be performed to my own music or to the music being played at the function to enhance the nights existing entertainment.

Combined Performances
If you are having a themed event, where you would like fire entertainment throughout, you can combine the above performances and pay a discounted rate. Popular combinations include:
– Fire Welcome and Fire Show
– Roving and Fire Show
– Fire Welcome and Short Sets
– Roving and Short Sets

Staging Requirements
Shows can be performed both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor performances are not suited to windy or wet conditions and require darkness for the fire to have full effect. For all shows, a minimum of 3m square floor space is required, with a minimum overhead clearance of 2m. Also, a secure backstage area in which to prepare and store equipment before and after the performance must be provided (an area of at least 2m square is required).

Festival Fun Workshops

Poi and staff twirling as well as hula hooping are fun and engaging activities at fairs and festivals.

The Festival Fun Workshops include a marquee with plenty of poi, staff and hula hoops for both children and adults to enjoy. A combination of demonstrations, formal workshop activities and informal play add to the fun atmosphere of any festival or fair.

These workshops can be run for just a few hours or over several days depending on the length of your event.
